Reconciliation

A few days later, Takeeta laid a bombshell on Dee, Val & Cathy. The Drago had sent a video message to the UN Security Council, saying those Drago were a rebel part of their race and that they are actually a peaceful race who would like to establish diplomatic relations with Earth. They offere, as a start, a serum that will instantly cure ALL human diseases. The United Nations Security Council very strongly indicated they were interested and asked for a meeting to discuss mutual interests!

Dee exclaimed, “No! You’re kidding, right?”

Takeeta glumly replied, “No, it’s true. Doris Thatcher, our new ambassador to the United Nations, said they received the message just yesterday. They want to meet on some interstellar cruise ships orbiting Europa, one of the moons of Jupiter, in two weeks. They want to see if hostilities can cease, and a peace treaty be arranged. Can you believe it? And get this. These Drago offer all the attendees of the meeting a gift of a serum with no side effects that can extend a person’s lifespan by fifty years! They say this is to compensate Earth for all the misunderstandings so far. Can you believe it?”

Dee couldn’t. “Is anyone buying this crud?”

Takeeta replied, “You kidding? They are all fighting to be attendees. Fifty years of extra life is a big come on for sure!”

Val interjected, “Then why can’t they offer it to everyone on Earth as an incentive?”

Takeeta replied, “They say that it’s because this is all they have. But they will bring the formula so it can possibly be made on Earth. Some crock, huh?”

Cathy replied, “Even if it is a legitimate formula, the common people will never see it. The politicians and those who rule via the cabal, or whatever you want to call it, will never allow that. We need to do something to convince people these jokers are evil!”

Dee said, “Well, let’s all try, vigorously, and see if people will see the light.”

After two weeks of trying to convince the politicians that the Drago are not what they may seem, they had failed. The lure of that additional life simply could not be diverted from the politicians’ minds. They saw it as another fifty years to be in office and enrich their bottom lines.

In two weeks’ time, representatives from Earth attended the peace conference with the Drago on a beautiful golden ship the color of sunlight on an autumn day. It looked like a cruise ship with a dome open to the sky and food bars of every shape and type for the two-day meeting. They had seen cruise ships for outer space before but never this mammoth size or with such opulence. The sheets, by gosh, were lined in pure silver!

The amount of precious jewels onboard was awe-inspiring and Dee, Val, and Takeeta all took a generous handful as they all sensed this was too good to be true. They would put most of these in a display case at headquarters, warning all that “If something looked too good to be true, it probably was”.
